Overview
The IPAF MCWP Trainer course is designed for experienced MCWP operators, installers, and maintenance personnel who wish to become certified to train others in the safe operation of MCWP equipment. This course provides participants with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to deliver high-quality training sessions on MCWPs safety & operation. As a MCWP Trainer, you will be responsible for educating and certifying operators, ensuring they meet legal and safety standards.
The course combines practical teaching techniques with in-depth technical knowledge of MCWP systems, emphasizing the importance of clear communication, structured lesson plans, and effective assessment methods. It is aimed at individuals who want to take on a key role in developing safe MCWP practices within their teams or organizations.

To attend, participants should have at least 12 months experience with MCWP systems, ideally holding a current IPAF MCWP Operator, MCWP Installer, or equivalent qualification. Additionally candidates must also hold:
- Evidence of country specific safety training
- Instructional techniques for trainer (min 3 days)
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulations and standards pertinent to MCWPs
- Evidence of HSE required standard for First Aid at Work training level

- Risk Assessment and Safety Regulations: : How to teach trainees to conduct risk assessments before MCWP operation and installation, ensuring they are aware of potential hazards and safety protocols. This includes legal requirements, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency procedures.
- Effective Communication and Presentation Skills: : Techniques for delivering clear and engaging training, including how to use visual aids, demonstrations, and interactive methods to ensure understanding.
- Training Documentation and Records: : How to document training sessions, maintain accurate records, and provide evidence of competency for regulatory compliance and certification purposes.
- Practical Demonstration and Supervision: : How to supervise practical sessions effectively, offering constructive feedback and assessment during hands-on training with MCWP equipment.

Certification & Assessment
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an IPAF MCWP Trainer Certificate and an IPAF PAL Card (Powered Access License) digitally via the IPAF ePAL app which is recognized internationally allowing you to deliver IPAF-certified training sessions.
Assessment: The course includes both theoretical and practical assessments. Participants must pass:
- A written exam that tests knowledge of MCWP operation, safety regulations, training techniques, and assessment methods.
- A practical assessment in which participants must demonstrate their ability to deliver a training session effectively, including conducting a practical demonstration and assessing the skills of a trainee.
Validity: The IPAF ePAL Card for MCWP Trainers is valid for 5 years. After this period, trainers must complete a revalidation course to maintain certification.
